US Government Grants Information

Grants given by the US Government are issued to those projects that uphold positive externalities which mean that a project should bring positive effects to its society along with itself. The Grants may be given coming from a state government or federal government.

Federal grants are usually issued to companies or firms rather than a certain individuals. These government grants have three types such as Formula, Earmark and Project grants.

Earmark grants were given through legislators. These grants were added to the bills that they were going to pass. These would help the projects to obtain funds from the government without any reviews from the public, thus, the legislators may often abuse this kind of government grants. Project grants were being issued to a particular project that does researching programs. A certain medical company that does some researches about drugs that could help in fighting a certain disease is the most common company that qualified to this type of grants. Formula grants were the grants that were ordered by an existing law which provides funds that were usually used by the government to support programs that demotes the substance abuse and protects the natural resources like forest.

State grants usually issued to individuals given by a certain states. It includes the government grants that promote higher education for people such as the education and college grants.

Education Grants were given to both individuals and institutions. Institutions may utilize the money for improving their facilities while the individuals who are in great needs, part of minority community, or those physically handicapped such as blind and deaf may use that grant to finish their education. College grants are given to those higher achievers that need financial assistance for their college. Government may either pay the portion of their college fees or undertake all of their expenses, which depend to each individual case.
